Description
This 1974 Bangladesh Official Stamp #O12 was issued for Government postal use only. It is an overprint of the same year’s regular postage stamp issue #83. The stamp’s design depicts a worker collecting date palm juice. This item is in Mint, Never Hinged Condition.
The date palm grows wild in the fertile Bay of Bengal region of Bangladesh. Formerly known as East Pakistan, the Independent People’s Republic of Bangladesh previously used the Rupee as its currency. In 1972, Bangladesh adopted the Taka as its official currency shortly after becoming an independent nation in 1971.
