Released early in Gabonese Postal History, the 1964 Gabon Airmail Stamp #C16 features the majestic Crowned Hawk Eagle. This huge, hungry bird is only slightly smaller than the U.S. Eagle. Yet the, as much as 8 pound, Crowned Hawk Eagle likes to eat monkeys and antelope. It may be wise to place it upon a stamp album page of its own. For this great bird does not play well with others.
